Dr Nirusha Kumaran is a UK-trained GP specialising in women’s health, menopause, functional medicine and longevity. She is Chief Medical Officer at Founders Health in London and Medical Director and Visiting Doctor at Menovivre Clinic in Dubai.
She takes a personalised, whole-body approach to perimenopause and menopause, recognising that hormonal changes do not occur in isolation. Symptoms such as fatigue, brain fog, poor sleep, anxiety, changes in body composition and low libido can be influenced by an interplay between sex hormones, thyroid function, metabolic health, nutritional status, stress and other factors.
Rather than focusing solely on replacing hormones or treating individual symptoms, Dr Kumaran works to understand the wider clinical picture and develop an individualised treatment plan.
Her approach combines evidence-based medicine with principles from functional and lifestyle medicine. Where appropriate, this may include HRT or bioidentical hormone therapy alongside targeted investigation and optimisation of nutrition, metabolic health, sleep, exercise and other modifiable factors.
Dr Kumaran is a Member of the British Menopause Society and has undertaken additional training in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and functional medicine. She holds a Diploma in Lifestyle Medicine and has completed the Institute for Functional Medicine’s Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice programme.
