Dr Mayoni is a London-trained doctor and former NHS surgeon whose career has been shaped by a lifelong passion for medicine and service. Growing up with two GP parents, she discovered early the profound impact compassionate healthcare can have on people’s lives. After graduating from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 2000, she pursued surgical training and became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2002. Her years in surgery taught her the transformative power of performing the right intervention for the right patient.
Her dedication to evidence-based practice deepened during four years of research at the Blizzard Institute under Professor Sir Norman Williams, where she investigated pelvic floor disorders, particularly faecal incontinence. Witnessing how widespread yet silent this condition was—especially among women—ignited her enduring commitment to female wellness and preventive care.
Despite her love for surgery, she grew increasingly aware of the systemic challenges within the NHS. After thoughtful reflection and professional coaching, she transitioned into independent practice, establishing two award-winning clinics in South East London. Through these clinics, she offers medical skin and aesthetic treatments grounded in safety, science, and patient trust.
The Covid-19 pandemic further fuelled her commitment to community health and prevention, inspiring the creation of Human Health. She trained with the Institute of Functional Medicine, completing modules in gut health, hormones, cardiometabolism, immune function and environmental medicine, and now serves as Vice Chair and co-founder of the British College of Functional Medicine.
At the heart of her approach is meaningful consultation. She listens deeply, seeking to understand not just symptoms but the whole person. Her patients are individuals motivated to take control of their future health, supported by a multidisciplinary team that empowers lasting, evidence-based change.
